Borussia Dortmund Enter Talks With Arsenal Star Amid Premier League Interest

Borussia Dortmund have opened talks to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this summer, according to reports.

The German side have been tipped to replace transfer bound Pierre Emerick Aubamenyang who is said to be keen on leaving the club with Chelsea being one of his possible destination.

Giroud has been a bit-part player since last season, sparking reports that the Frenchman will leave the club in search of better opportunities and has even hinted at a possible move away from the Emirates.

The 30-year-old is currently valued at £35million by Arsenal, but they will not allow him leave this summer despite the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.

It is understood that Borussia Dortmund are admirers of Giroud, with reports in Daily Mirror claim that the Serie A side will move for the striker once Aubamenyang leaves the club for either Chelsea or a move towards the Far East.

The likes of Everton and West Ham United have also been tipped to move for Giroud this summer but it is believed that Giroud will fancy a move towards Germany.

The Arsenal striker has also hinted at a possible exit from Emirates during a third kit launch, he said: ‘This year I don’t know about my future so I can’t tell you more. I’m focused on pre-season.’
