Arsenal Planning Improved Offer For Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal are considering an improved offer for Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

The 26-year-old have been closely monitored by the Gunners this summer as his proposed move to Atletico Madrid failed due to their transfer ban and Lyon club president Jean-Michel Aulas has come out to reveal that the Gunners have made a ‘very nice’ offer for Lacazette but insists the striker will not leave this summer.

He said: “Lacazette was told he could leave.

“We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. But for us he will not leave.”

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Lacazette’s abilities and even tried to sign him last summer, tabling a bid of £30million which was rejected by the French club.

Arsenal have returned with an offer for the striker and wants to sign him to replace Olivier Giroud who has been tipped to make a stunning return to France after enduring a reduced role at the Emirates.

The striker had earlier revealed his desire to leave Lyon this summer in quest of more opportunities elsewhere and Arsenal could be one of his preferred destination although he might have to cope without Champions League football next season after the Gunners missed out of the European Elite competition for the first time in twenty years.
