Mesut Ozil Reveals His Preferred Transfer Destination Amid Transfer Speculation

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed that he will fancy a return to Schalke amid intense speculation over his future.

The German star has been tipped to leave the Emirates this summer alongside fellow contract rebel, Alexis Sanchez who has also failed to renew his contract with the Gunners, despite just having one year remaining on his current deal.

Ozil who arrived at Arsenal from Real Madrid after impressing at Bundesliga with Schalke, has been come under intense criticism from several fans and pundits who had complained about the playmaker’s poor attitude to games.

Talking about the prospects of returning to Schalke, he told Funke Media Group: ‘Schalke is my absolute favourite club, I’m still a big fan, after all, I grew up with Schalke.

‘In terms of potential, Schalke is the number three for me in Germany after Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

‘They have wonderful fans and a great stadium. It is a pity that they are stuck in mediocrity. This fantastic club deserves more.’

Arsenal have just signed Sead Kolasinac who left the Bundesliga outfit as a free agent to arrive at the Emirates, as the Gunners try to bring in quality additions to better their previous displays.
