Everton have moved ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United in race to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Turf Moor due to his solid displays at the back so far this season in the Premier League, drawing interest from quite a number of clubs in the Premier League and Manchester United were believed to be leading in the race to sign their former academy graduate.
However, reports in the Daily Mirror have now claim that Everton are moved ahead of the Liverpool and United in the race after making contact with Keane and are becoming confident of landing him next summer.
It is understood that Ronald Koeman will spend up to £20million to sign the Englishman in what could see Manchester United net 25 percent of the fee.
However, Michael Keane was spotted in the stands during the Red Devils 2-0 victory over Chelsea at the Old Trafford last Sunday, sparking suggestions that he is keen on returning to his boyhood club after being sold by former boss Louis Van Gaal.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen on bringing defensive reinforcement to his current squad next summer and has identified Keane as a potential target ahead of a busy window.
