Two Liverpool FC defenders make the list of the best 20 defenders in the world
World football body, FIFA and FIFA Pro have been gathering a list of 20 best players in various football positions.
The body, when done with the process for the whole football positions, will then handpick the best 11 which will be announced in the Best FIFA football Awards later in the month.
However, following votes from invited people, two of Liverpool players made the list of the top 20 best defenders in the world.
The two Reds players are Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren.
Well, this latest news doesn’t come as a surprise as the two top defenders had helped push Jurgen Klopp led Liverpool squad to the final of UEFA Champions League tournament last season before they were defeated by Real Madrid.
Dejan Lovren was also nominated following his performance in the 2018 world cup in Russia as he has always touted himself as one of the best defenders in the world.
At the same time, Van Dijk has also been spectacular for the Reds so far and even gave a wonderful performance for his home country, the Netherlands during the match against France recently to prove his worth.
