Victor Moses’ witty reaction to Zappacosta’s debut goal from Qarabag win

Chelsea’s summers signing Davide Zappacosta’s goal took everyone by surprise, but his direct competitor at the club, Victor Moses looked more shocked than everyone else to see the ball fly into the net.

Nigeria international Victor Moses watched from the substitute bench as the new Chelsea right wing back took his opportunity against debutant Qarabag in the 6-0 thrashing, and he was reminded by some of his colleagues at the club about who might just push him out of his place in the team.

Substitute goalkeeper Willy Caballero sat next to Victor Moses on the bench and cameras panned round to see the former Manchester City goalkeeper taking the mick out of the Nigerian, with Brazil international David Luiz, the other side of the winger.

Victor Moses no doubt knows he has a tough competition on his hands for the starting place after last night’s outing and it will be interesting to see who Italian tactician Antonio Conte picks to torture Arsenal on the right wing at the weekend.

Some players have spent their whole career at the club and not had a song composed or sang about them; however, Zappacosta looked to have two songs already in one night.

It all started when the Italian fired into the back of the net, even though it was meant to be a cross, and Chelsea faithful immediately loved him.

Chants of his name were sung, and it looks like Chelsea could have a new cult hero.
