Van Dijk Is The Missing Piece At Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger believes that star player Virgil Van Dijk is the missing piece needed for the Reds to challenge for and win major trophies.

The ex-Danish international made this revelation in a chat with the Liverpool Echo has he praised the impact of Virgil Van Dijk on the Reds.

Daniel Agger was part of the last Liverpool team to win any kind of trophy in 2012 but the former Reds centre back believes that Virgil Van Dijk can fire the club to glory.

Liverpool splashed a whopping sum of £75m to sign Virgil Van Dijk from fellow Premier League side Southampton in January 2018 and the Dutch international centre back has been able to transform the fortunes of the Reds.

The Merseysiders reached the final of last season’s Champions League and Virgil Van Dijk was a major part of that success.

Liverpool were not able to secure a sixth European title after they were beaten 3-1 by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Virgil Van Dijk has been the Player of the Year for a lot of people in the Premier League as he has played a big part in the Reds’ ascent to the top of the table ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
