Celtic star Moussa Dembélé is one of the hottest properties in European football at the moment and the latest suitor to be linked to the young striker is Anfield giants Liverpool as per the report from Scottish media outlet Glasgow Live.
In-form Dembélé, who has also been linked with top European sides like Arsenal and Manchester United, would cost Liverpool around £40m with the January transfer window fast approaching.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the French youth international and he would be hoping he can seal a deal for him quickly so as to further boost his side in their pursuit of honours.
The 5-time European champions are presently 2nd on the league table and a point off leaders Chelsea in addition to booking their semi-final place against Southampton in the EFL Cup while there is still the English FA Cup, with third round fixtures scheduled to start next month.
On the aforementioned transfer fee as regards Dembélé, who has scored 17 goals in 27 appearances for his Celtic side, Liverpool reportedly wants to offer £20m upfront with the remaining half based on add-ons and contract clauses though it remains to be seen whether the Scottish Premier League (SPL) champions would be keen to do business with the club keen to hang onto their prized asset.
