Transfer Advice: Man City Urged To Sign 19-Year-Old Liverpool Target

Ex-Ajax Amsterdam manager Peter Bosz is certain that club skipper Matthijs De Ligt will be a good fit for Premier League champions Manchester City.

Ajax captain De Ligt is expected to leave the Dutch Eredivisie giants during this summer’s transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz chatted with Voetbal International about Matthijs De Ligt and how the Dutch international star would be a perfect fit for Aymeric Laporte at the heart of the Manchester City defence.

According to him, De Ligt will be forced to play on the left side of the central defence at Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona because of club legend Gerard Pique but he can play in his preferred right centre back position at Manchester City.

At least five major European clubs are keen on a transfer for the 19-year-old central defender.

Apart from Barcelona and Manchester City, other European giants like Italian champions Juventus, Champions League finalists Liverpool and three-time European champions Manchester United are also in the running to sign the aforementioned De Ligt.

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has formed a potent centre back partnership with De Ligt for the Dutch national team and many people (especially Liverpool fans) believe that they can reprise that partnership if the Reds go all out to sign him.
