Italian Serie A giants Napoli have made the signing of a new right-back their top priority for this summer’s transfer window and they have turned their attention to the Premier League to achieve their target.

According to the publication from Goal, Napoli are plotting a £15m move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne this summer.

Nathaniel Clyne is expected back at Liverpool in the coming days following his loan move to South Coast club Bournemouth.

The England international player spent the second half of the season on loan at Bournemouth in a bid to get more playing time after he was left on the fringes of the Liverpool team.

Nathaniel Clyne was the first choice right-back at Liverpool before injuries stopped him in his track.

The emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold also played a big part in his temporary exit from Liverpool.

The Reds might sell him this summer if they receive a concrete bid from him.

Napoli are interested in the former Southampton and Crystal Palace defender and a fee of around £15m would be enough to prise him away from Liverpool this summer.

The Italians are preparing to make a big assault on the Italian Serie A next season under Carlo Ancelotti.
