Tottenham In £40m Bid For Ex-Chelsea Defender

Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake during this summer’s transfer window.

According to The Sun, Spurs want to sign the former Chelsea defender this summer and they are willing to spend as much as £40m on him.

The Dutch international could be the replacement for Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham Hotspur.

Toby Alderweireld is expected to leave Spurs this summer with one year left on his existing deal and a release clause of £25m.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with the aforementioned Alderweireld.

Nathan Ake has been a key player for Bournemouth since he joined them from Chelsea.

The Dutch defender initially spent the first half of the 2016/17 on loan at the South Coast club before going back to Chelsea in January 2017.

Bournemouth finally signed their man permanently in the summer of 2017 after they agreed on a £20m deal for him.

He has been their best defender in the last two seasons since his transfer and it’s not surprising that the big clubs want to sign him.

Chelsea want him to return to the club but that might not be this summer due to the two-window transfer ban hanging over their head.

Manchester United are also interested in the ex-Chelsea player.
