Thomas Lemar Is The First Player Man Utd Are Likely To Sign In January

According to reports, premier league heavyweights Manchester United are getting ready to pay Monaco a club-record £92million to persuade the French champions to send across Thomas Lemar to Old Trafford in January.

Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen on bringing Lemar to Old Trafford, and the Portuguese boss is ready to beat Arsenal to the player’s signature when January comes.

The player was heavily linked with moving to Arsenal during the past summer transfer window, and the Gunners missed out on him on transfer deadline day.

It was said that Arsene Wenger won’t be backing out from the race to get Lemar’s signature, particularly as the future of Alexis Sanchez at North London is very bleak. However, the Mirror made it known that Wenger’s side will be facing serious competition from Jose Mourinho’s side when January comes.

It was added that Thomas’ advisors are very much aware of interest from Man United as the chase for the player hots up.

Jose was reportedly not pleased that his side were not able to land a winger during the summer window. He was keen to lure Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, but the Italian club refused to sell the player, leaving the former Chelsea boss to turn his attentions to Lemar.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is however understood to be desperate to sign the 21-year-old to replace Sanchez who is expected to complete a move to Manchester City in January.
