Shaqiri on game against Huddersfield

Liverpool made a trip to Huddersfield over the weekend for their ninth match in the English Premier League.

The Reds managed to defeat David Wagner led squad thanks to a lone goal from Egypt international, Mo Salah.

However, Jurgen Klopp in a post-match statement disclosed that the Reds still have a lot to improve on.

Well, Liverpool new player from Stoke City, Xherdan Shaqiri, who got a rare start in the match against Huddersfield has given his analysis about the match.

According to Shaqiri, Liverpool had the opportunities to score more goals but they didn’t utilize the passes well.

He hinted that they could perhaps have done well offensively but it was good the team kept a clean sheet despite the defensive style they played.

The Switzerland international went on to applaud Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez for their efforts at the back.

Shaqiri affirmed he knew the game against Huddersfield would be difficult having played against them while he was at Stoke City.

He finally added that the main thing was that Liverpool was able to pick up all three points against Huddersfield.

Liverpool FC are currently seated at the second spot on the EPL table alongside Man City.
