Rooney says players not doing enough for Mourinho

DC United striker Wayne Rooney has accused Manchester United players as being the major problems in the controversies at the club.

United have struggled this season, winning only one of their last four games in addition to being eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Derby County.

The Red Devils are now 8th in the Premier League table and 7 points behind league leaders. It is the worst record the Old Trafford side have ever had in a long time.

Rooney is of the opinion that Jose Mourinho does not deserve the strokes he has received as a result of the poor United form, adding that he is only being used as a scapegoat.

According to it, the effort of the Portuguese manager cannot translate into success for the club if the players refuse to stand up and work.

He charged the players to be more responsible and stand up for the challenge rather than leaving it all on the manager.

Mourinho was a subject of sack before he was assured of his stay by the management via a text message that was sent to him by the club’s management.

He has also been assured of funds in the January window to help him turn things around.
