Man United Legend Predicts These Two Teams Will Miss Out On Top Four, Advises Chelsea Star

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand is of the opinion that the duo teams of Arsenal and Liverpool are the ones who will miss out on the top four this season.

The gunners slipped to the fifth position following their 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening. The Anfield club now move into the third position following the win.

However on the other hand, sixth placed Manchester United passed up the chance to gain more ground as they drew 1-1 with Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

However, the former United captain is of the opinion that Jose Mourinho’s side have enough to grab a Champions League ticket for next season.

Ferdinand told BT Sport:

‘I think it will be Arsenal and Liverpool who miss out,‘The problem is, all the teams we’ve mentioned have an inconsistency.’

Mourinho’s side are three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City. City will play Sunderland on Sunday.

A Word For Chelsea Star Striker

Ferdinand also warned Chelsea star striker Diego Costa that he would be quite foolish to leave Chelsea if he is scoring goals and winning titles at Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish star was linked with a potential move to China in the last winter transfer window after he reportedly fell out with Italian manager Antonio Conte.

But it appears both Costa and Conte have patched up their differences and the center forward has continued his splendid form for the west London side in their title bid.

The Stamford Bridge club are now 10 points clear of their closest title rivals Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their trip to West Ham United in their London derby on Monday.

And Ferdinand also offered Costa some advice.

“If I was in his situation as a top player scoring goals in this league and winning titles, I’m not going anywhere.

“While you are winning, you don’t go. It’s as simple as that.”
