Real Madrid are reportedly willing to splash huge cash to get a proven goalkeeper this summer, and they’ve been linked with the likes of David De Gea, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
In a new development, however, there are new speculations that the Champions League winners are now prioritising a transfer move for one of de Gea or Donnarumma over Courtois.
In a major boost for Chelsea, the La Liga champions seem to have cooled their interest in the Belgian as they weigh up their options to replace Keylor Navas.
Thibaut has been an important member in the Chelsea squad since he was promoted to first choice in 2014/15, having impressed in three campaigns on loan at Atletico Madrid prior to that.
The premier league champions now hope to tie Courtois down to a new contract, but recent news states that contract talks had broken down as he wants to earn as huge as £200,000 each week.
The London Evening Standard also claimed that Chelsea have been given renewed hope of holding on to the Belgium international as he no longer looks to be a priority for Real Madrid.
Chelsea are playing in the Champions League next season and Thibaut Courtois is expected to be in between the sticks for Antonio Conte’s side.
