Deal Almost Agreed as Agent confirms talks with Chelsea to make 23-year-old their second winter signing

According to the Brazilian’s representative, Chelsea FC are in talks with AS Roma about the signing of Emerson Palmieri in the winter transfer window.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a transfer to sign the defender recently as manager Antonio Conte looks to further strengthen his team this month.

Now, the player’s representative Fernando Garcia looks to have confirmed that the Blues are indeed keen on signing the 23-year-old in the winter transfer window.

Garcia is cited as saying by the Daily Express that Chelsea are absolutely a solid possibility.

The 2Brazilian has only recently recovered from a severe knee problem and has only played once from the bench in Serie A match for AS Roma so far this campaign.

The Blues are thought to be in the market for further reinforcements this New Year after they secured the signature of England international midfielder Ross Barkley from Merseyside club Everton in a transfer deal thought to be worth about £20million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea on Saturday returned to winning ways in the Premier League, beating Brighton and Hove Albion 2 – 0 at lunchtime.

The West London side, who won the League title in grand style last term, find themselves down in the League table after series of draws.
