Pundit welcomes Philippe Coutinho to Man United

Former Arsenal striker and ESPN FC pundit Paul Mariner has welcomed the speculations that Manchester United could bring in Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho to the Old Trafford in this winter transfer window.

Philippe Coutinho is reported to be unhappy at the club as he has gone down the pecking order with just little games available for him to prove his worth, having been favoured behind French forward Ousmane Dembele by manager Ernesto Valverde.

The Brazilian international joined the Nuo Camp some 12 months ago from the current English Premier League leaders as one of the hottest players in the world but that cannot be said of the now for Philippe Coutinho.

So far, Philippe Coutinho has made just 9 starts in the LA Liga this season where he scored four goals.

However, the former Arsenal striker-turned pundit said it would be a good addition for the Red Devils should they capture the signature of Philippe Coutinho this winter.

He, however, raised concerned over the possibility of having the deal fall through as he is yet to figure out why the Brazilian will want to move back to the EPL and United.

He said he does not expect Barcelona to sell a player like Philippe Coutinho who is of proven quality.
