Legend: Mourinho Made This Mistake At Chelsea, But Conte Won’t

Chelsea are now confirmed premier league champions for this season, and while the celebrations continues, someone is looking at things at a deeper angle….

Arsenal legend Paul Merson is of the opinion that the premier league title winner will face a tougher task to win the trophy again next term.

He however added that the west London club are in better hands under their current Italian boss Antonio Conte than his Portuguese predecessor Jose Mourinho.

Conte has enjoyed a superb successful first campaign in Chelsea and in the premier league. He lifted the blues to the Premier League title without much issue, and he is set for a domestic double if his side win Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

And the former Arsenal player Merson, noted that defending the trophy is tougher than winning it in the first place.

Leicester City could not successfully defend the title this season, and they need fight instead to escape relegation.

Last season when Chelsea were defending the title won the previous season under Mourinho, they ended up in the 10th position and without a trophy.

But Merson believes the former Juventus manager won’t repeat that same mistake at Chelsea.

Conte won three titles in a row when he was still with the Serie A club, and Merson trust that he will continue making the fans proud.
