Oxlade-Chamberlain Backed To Make Positive Impact On Liverpool Injury Return

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has backed Reds teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to make a positive impact on the team upon his return from injury.

The ex-England international believes that the former Arsenal player can make a telling contribution in the quest to win major honours in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Milner told the Liverpool website that the injury returnee has a role to play between now and the end of this season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of action for the better part of last year.

The Three Lions of England star sustained a serious knee injury during the Reds’ semifinal clash with Italian Serie A giants AS Roma.

Liverpool saw off the Italians in the last four but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was not involved as the Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the final of the competition last season.

He has not played for Liverpool this season but the former Southampton trainee could return to action next month.

Earlier this week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to full training.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has also returned to training to boost the Reds’ quest for a fantastic end to the season starting with Sunday’s game at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
