Former Liverpool Star Gives Reason Chelsea Won’t Beat Man United In FA Cup Clash

Former Liverpool striker and pundit Michael Owen is of the opinion that Chelsea won’t beat Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday night because Man United Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho is desperate for revenge.

The current premier league table leaders Chelsea beat Manchester United 4-0 at Stamford Bridge when they met earlier this season in Jose Mourinho’s first game as the Red Devils boss against his old club.

As things stands now, Antonio Conte’s Blues are 10 points clear at the top of the table over second placed and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and are 17 points clear of Manchester United in the Premier League table.

Manchester United are still sixth placed on the table, while Chelsea are set to win the title for the second time in three years.

“I still feel Man United’s name will be in the draw for the semi-finals on Monday night”

However, former Manchester United striker Michael Owen doesn’t think they will complete a double this year.

There are no longer replays in FA Cup quarter-finals and Michael Owen sees his old club going through.

“No Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Man United through suspension but I still feel United’s name will be in the draw for the semi-finals on Monday although they may have to settle for a draw,”Owen wrote on BetVictor.

“The holders were beaten 4-0 in the corresponding Premier League fixture earlier in this season and that was the low-point of their season.

“Jose Mourinho will be keen to exorcise those demons back at the Bridge where he was once revered of course.”
