Mesut Ozil could stay; German star happy with new Arsenal role

Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil has spoken about how much he loves his new role at the North London club, playing alongside forward Alexis Sanchez and striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The creative midfielder was brilliant in the victory over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and revealed to doubters who claimed he underperforms in big matches that they were wrong, and the playmaker now has more assists than any other English Premier League player ever since 2013.

The German star is considering penning a new contract with Arsenal, and it seems that if the German puts in more outings like that, the North London club will be ready to pay the £300,000-weekly wage he is asking.

Mesut Ozil is not the only Arsenal player who is considering remaining at the London club, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said he thinks that both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could well be ready to sign new deals – and it looks like while the Wenger’s team were concerned about losing their most prized asset, it may not be the case anymore.

It seems the Chilean international forward does look like departing the club, but as for Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil, the signs are good and he certainly loves playing in a more advanced role in the ‘triangle’ set up that the British media have dubbed Alexander Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez, and Mesut Ozil when they feature together for Arsenal.
