Star player close to signing a new deal with Arsenal

According to reports, Arsenal star player Mesut Ozil is close to signing a new deal at North London to extend his stay at the club.

Ozil’s current contract with Arsenal is meant to expire at the end of this term, and the German star would become a free man next summer if he failed to put pen on paper for a new deal.

There are widespread speculations that he is keen on moving out of the Emirates Stadium, and that he desires reuniting with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent times, and it was even claimed that the red devils would prefer signing him as a free agent.

However, according to new reports, the German star is on the verge of signing a new contract with the gunners to extend his stay at the club.

The former Real Madrid player is demanding higher wages as he approaches the final phase of his career on the pitch. He currently earns £150,000 each week at the Emirates, and the North Londoners have now reportedly reached an agreement with him.

Chilean international Alexis Sanchez, on the other hand, is expected to complete a move to Old Trafford anytime soon.
