Martin Keown: Mourinho Has An Ulterior Motive For Wanting To Take This Step At United

Arsenal star player Mesut Ozil is expected to leave North London next summer to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

And former Arsenal man Martin Keown believes the Portuguese tactician has an ulterior motive for wanting to get the German’s signature.

Ozil will be out of contract at Arsenal at the end of this season and he is set to enter the final six months of his current deal with the gunners.

There were reports he has been offered a £300,000-a-week deal at Arsenal, but he seems determined to leave the club next summer.

There were widespread rumours that he has informed his friends he would prefer joining Manchester United over Barcelona.

The Catalan giants has identified the World Cup Winner as a potential alternative to Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho.

Ozil played under Jose Mourinho for a few years back then at Real Madrid – where both were able to win some trophies together, and could be reunited with him at Man United if things will move towards Mourinho’s directions.

And Arsenal legend Martin Keown, speaking recently about the situation, said Jose has some ulterior motives for seeking to bring Ozil to Old Trafford next summer.

As reported by  Metro to Martin, apart from the fact that Mesut is a quality star, Mourinho is aware that getting Ozil’s signature next year would be a ‘poke in the eye for Arsene Wenger’
