Various top defenders have been linked with Manchester United this summer, one of which is Atletico Madrid full-back Sime Vrsaljko.
There have been various speculations linking Sime with a move away from the Spanish capital, but it appears he won’t be dumping Diego Simeone’s side this summer.
Vrsaljko has made it known recently that he is happy at Atletico Madrid, despite his links with other top European sides.
Last week, there were some rumours from the English media that Manchester United are set to make Sime their first summer signing with £35m.
No one can deny the fact that Anthony Valencia has been impressive at Old Trafford since he took up the role of a right full-back. However, the player is getting closer to his retirement stage, and Mourinho must sign stronger players to challenge Manchester City next season.
At Atletico Madrid, Vrsaljko had an unpleasant campaign as a result of injuries – his challenges gave him the chance to play just 29 games in all competitions this term.
Nevertheless, despite everything, the talented player has no plans to depart Atletico Madrid – giving a big blow to Jose Mourinho’s summer plans.
The full-back also made it known that his side have turned down offers from other sides, and he confessed he is happy with the Europa League winners.
