Manchester United have missed out of the signing of Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, according to reports in The Sun.
The 23-year-old is expected to join Juventus in a £36 million deal after weeks of speculation over his future. The Serie A clubs also agreed that Fiorentina will take 10% of a a future sale. The winger will arrive Juve on Saturday for a medical ahead of his move
Prior reports suggested that Manchester United were keen on landing Bernardeschi this summer as an ideal alternative to Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic whose transfer fee has been a stumbling block to a move.
Chelsea were also said to have had interest in the winger but the player is said to have preferred to remain in the Serie A dashing hopes of Fiorentina who were keen on selling to a club outside Italy at initial stage.
It is understood that the winger was at a time holding out for a move to Manchester United after learning about their interest, refusing to pen a new deal with Fiorentina but the Red Devils have had shifted their gaze to signing Perisic instead.
Federico Bernardeshi is regarded as one of the best in his position in Italy, netting 16 goals for both club and country during the last campaign.
