Barcelona star player Luis Saurez says his side are ‘always’ on the lookout for the best stars in the world, and that Phillipe Coutinho is welcome at Barca.
Coutinho was heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool during the summer transfer window and we all thought he would become a Barcelona player this season.
The Catalan giants did all they could to get the player’s signature – including making three big-money bids, and even Coutinho himself handed in a transfer request to force his way out of Anfield.
But Liverpool refused to change their stance of ‘he is not leaving’, and a deal couldn’t materialise before the closure of the window.
However, despite Countiho’s current superb form at Liverpool, his heart is still at Camp Nou, and there are recent speculations that he has agreed to personal terms with Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window.
Although Liverpool are unlikely to allow the Samba star leave in January, it is understood Barcelona could come up to try convincing the Merseyside club to let go of the Brazil international.
And former Liverpool player Luiz Suarez, speaking recently to newsmen, said his side will always be interested in superb players like Countiho, because, according to him, Barcelona always want the best players.
