Liverpool vs Red Star Belgrade: Michael Owen gives his prediction

The Uefa Champions League returns this week, Liverpool will be playing their third match in the tournament tomorrow as they host Serbian club, Red Star Belgrade at Anfield.

Liverpool have played two matches already, the first match was against French side Paris Saint Germain which ended in a 3 goals to 2 in favour f Liverpool.

The Reds met their first defeat in the tournament when they played against Napoli.

Currently, Liverpool are seated on the second spot with Napoli taking the lead in the Champions League group.

On the other hand, Red Star Belgrade suffered a devastating defeat in the hands of PSG and played a goalless draw against Napoli.

Liverpool are tipped to pick up all three points against the Serbian side tomorrow.

This was part of the prediction made by Liverpool legend, Michael Owen, who stressed that Liverpool will defeat Red Star because they are yet to suffer a home defeat in their last 16 home games.

Owen stated that irrespective of Liverpool’s poor performance against Huddersfield during the weekend, the Reds will win Red Belgrade.

Liverpool have not faced a Serbian side in the last 45 seasons, this may make the game difficult to play and interesting to watch.
