Liverpool Star Targets Manchester City Clash For Injury Return

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has targeted a return to the team from injury just in time for the game against English Premier League (EPL) title rivals Manchester City on New Year Eve (31st of December, 2017).

The Brazilian forward made this known in a chat with the club’s official website. He said: “This is still my hope – to return for this game.”

“This is still my hope – to return for this game. The rehab is going really well. I can now walk without crutches and I am working well with the medical team. So I’m pleased with how I am recovering.

“Straight after the game, when I first saw the pictures and videos of my injury, I was a little scared. But after the scans, of course it was bad, but not as bad as it could have been. I am happy, as it could have been a lot worse.” he further added.

Former Inter Milan man Coutinho suffered an ankle injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at Anfield two weeks ago and in his absence the club has struggled picking up just one point in two games (3-4 away loss to lowly Bournemouth and 2-2 draw with London side West Ham United).
