Chelsea manager Antonio Conte batted away questions concerning the club’s reported in Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who plays for Arsenal and is currently in a contract logjam with the North London side, in his last press conference.
Reports broke earlier this month that former English Premier League (EPL) champions Chelsea could take advantage of the protracted contract negotiations that is going on between the 27-year old and Arsenal by swooping for him and that they will signify interest if Sanchez makes it clear that he won’t be signing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium prompting journalists to ask the new Chelsea manager about their supposed interest in the former River Plate, Udinese and Barcelona man.
In his response, the former Siena and Juventus boss said: “I don’t think it’s right to talk about players of other teams.”
“Now we are totally focused on the next game.” he further added.
Since his £30m move to Arsenal from Spanish and Copa Del Rey champions Barcelona and has grown to be a key player with Arsene Wenger’s team. He is presently the team’s topscorer with 13 goals in all competitions in addition to being the second highest goalscorer in the EPL with 11 goals behind Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who has 12 goals.
