Liverpool Miss Out On Germany-based Transfer Target

Premier League title chasers Liverpool have been handed a major transfer blow following the news that one of their transfer targets has agreed to join German champions Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

This is according to the publication from popular media outlet Goal which claimed that RB Leipzig Timo Werner will join the Bavarian giants in the summer.

German international Werner has been a long-term target for the Reds and it seems like they will miss out on him.

In a recent interview with Sky Germany, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig Oliver Mintzlaff revealed that Timo Werner will leave the club at the end of this season.

The RB Leipzig CEO said that the player has refused to sign a new contract and he’s determined to leave the club ahead of next season.

Apart from Bayern Munich and Liverpool, Timo Werner has been linked with other major European clubs like Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

The petite striker has been in superb form for RB Leipzig this season despite the intense transfer reports about his future at the club.

Timo Werner has scored 14 league goals this term in addition to five assists and his goal contributions have propelled RB Leipzig to the top three on the Bundesliga table.
