Liverpool Handed Big Boost In Premier League Title Race

Five-time European champions Liverpool have been handed a big boost in the race for the Premier League title following major injury news from title rivals Manchester City.

Ahead of their Premier League meeting with Cardiff City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed that star player Sergio Aguero will miss the home game.

Guardiola gave an injury update on Sergio Aguero during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Cardiff City game.

Sergio Aguero had earlier limped out of the Citizens’ last game which was a 2-0 win over Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero were on target in the first half of that game before the latter limped off very early in the second half.

Argentine international Aguero is the leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 19 goals.

The aforementioned strike against Fulham at the weekend is his 19th goal of the season.

Liverpool have a two-point lead over Manchester City at the moment but the Citizens can move ahead of their rivals with a win against Welsh side Cardiff City.

Manchester City have played a game less than Liverpool in the race for the Premier League.

A Manchester City win will take the champions to the summit ahead of Liverpool.
