Liverpool deny Barcelona Philippe Coutinho sale claims

According to reports, Premier League Club Liverpool have refuted claims they put Brazil international Philippe Coutinho up for sale after the La Liga club’s director claimed that his asking price was set at £183million.

The summer long-running transfer saga came to a temporary halt on Friday evening as the Spanish La Liga club failed to seal a move for the Brazilian before the Spanish La Liga transfer deadline slam shut.

The director of professional sports at Barcelona, Albert Soler, claimed during a press Conference on Saturday that his team were put off their chase by Red’s huge valuation of about €200.

As per a report on Sky Sports News, however, the Merseyside giant remained firm on their stance of not-for-sale throughout the summer transfer window, including on Spanish La Liga deadline day when they categorically turned down further bids in the 25-year-old midfield maestro.

The talented Brazilian, who has yet to feature in a Premier League or Champions League game for the Reds this newly commenced League season due to an injury believed to be stress-related, is thought to have been seen shedding tears while on international duty with his country Brazil when told that his dream move to Barcelona has not materialized this summer transfer window.
