Liverpool, Chelsea Eyeing Summer Move For 13-Goal Napoli Attacker

Two Premier League clubs are said to be eyeing a summer move for one of the best attackers on the Italian Serie A scene according to several media publications in Italy.

Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne is regarded as one of the best forwards in the Italian Serie A and he has been attracting interest from both Liverpool and Chelsea just under three months before the transfer window reopens.

This is according to a specific report from Corriere dello Sport which claimed that the two aforementioned English clubs could be involved in a transfer war to sign Italian international Insigne.

Another report from Italian media portal Calciomercato revealed that Insigne is holding out for a move away from his boyhood club this summer after falling out with Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Lorenzo Insigne recently came back from an injury but he was unable to prevent his boyhood club from suffering a quarterfinal exit in the Europa League.

Napoli were beaten both home and away by Premier League side Arsenal with Insigne in the lineups for the two games.

Arsenal won 3-0 on aggregate after the second leg in Italy ended in a 1-0 win for the Gunners.

Insigne has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 25 league games for Napoli this season.
