Klopp Refused To Blame This Liverpool Star For His Awful Performance Against Arsenal

Arsenal were helped yesterday by Simon Mignolet’s mistakes at the Emirates Stadium to share points with Liverpool.

Lots of Liverpool fans were annoyed with the Belgian shot-stopper for giving the gunners a cheap goal during the meeting, but manager Jurgen Klopp is making attempts to pour cold water on the issue.

Phillipe Coutinho scored the opener for the night before summer signing Mohamed Salah made it two in the first half of the game.

But Arsenal came back from behind to make the scoreline 3-2 in the space of six minutes, before Roberto Firmino scored the equaliser a few minutes later.

Granit Xhaka scored the second goal for Arsenal, and everyone thought Mignolet should have stopped the midfielder’s long-range shot with little difficulties.

But manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking after the game, refused to blame the goalkeeper for the mistake.

“[Mignolet] misjudged [the shot from Xhaka]”Klopp told Sky Sports.

Arsenal’s Petr Cech also commited a blunder that led to Firmino’s equaliser few minutes before full-time.

However, Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign a new central defender and a goalkeeper next year for Liverpool. His attack department is one of the best in Europe, but his back line remain shaky.

The Merseyside club are still in the fourth spot of the premier league table, one point ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal.
