Club Legend Believes Liverpool Must Sign Players For This Reason

Former Liverpool star John Aldridge has revealed that the Reds have to sign players to ensure that they challenge for honours in all the four competitions next season.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo, the Reds legend said that club manager Jurgen Klopp must strengthen his squad with three or four players so that the Merseyside giants will challenge in all competitions just like what Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are doing this season.

John Aldridge also went on to say that Liverpool need a striker and that the backup options in the striking position do not carry enough firepower.

He was disappointed with the club’s manner of exit to fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday night.

Wolves defeated Liverpool 2-1 at the Molineux courtesy the stunning second half strike from Portuguese international midfielder Ruben Neves.

His strike came five minutes after Liverpool striker Divock Origi had cancelled out the first half opener from Raul Jimenez.

Liverpool had earlier crashed out in the same round in this season’s Capital One Cup.

The Reds were beaten 2-1 by title rivals Chelsea.
Liverpool are now restricted to possible honours in two competitions namely the Premier League and Champions League.
