Huddersfield vs Liverpool: post match analysis, players’ ratings

Chelsea played a draw against Man Utd giving Liverpool the chance to move higher on the EPL table following their narrow win against Huddersfield.

David Wagner and Jurgen Klopp despite being close friends left their friendship aside as they went head to head.

The trip to Huddersfield town saw Liverpool star and Egypt international, Mo Salah ended his goal drought as he scored his 50th goal last night.

Below is Liverpool players’ ratings against Huddersfield:

Alisson Becker 7: the Reds goalkeeper made some good saves like the strike from Laurent Depoitre but he managed to keep a clean sheet.

Joe Gomez 7.5: the center half stated at the right back this time around to give room for Dejan Lovren, he played his part well and was part of the build-up that helped Liverpool with their lone goal.

Dejan Lovren 6.5: he was good in the first half but was unable to keep Depoitre and Steve Mounie at bay.

Virgil Van Dijk 6: the Netherlands captain failed to properly clear a pass that went to Mounie.

Andrew Robertson 7: he made some top performances but was unable to find his teammates.

Jordan Henderson 6: he made some great tackles in the first half but was replaced by Gini Wijnaldum after he sustained a hamstring.

James Milner 7: the injured player was back in action and he performed well before he was replaced by Roberto Firmino.

Adam Lallana 5.5: he wasted a lot of chances and was replaced later on in the match owing to fatigue, probably he is yet gain back his form.

Xherdan Shaqiri 7: the former Stoke City player put up some great performances and linked up well with Mo Salah.

Mo Salah 7: despite the fact that he scored the lone goal for Liverpool, he lost a goal opportunity and also lacked composure while passing the ball.

Daniel Sturridge 5: he started well but soon started losing ball possessions.

Substitutes

Gini Wijmadum 6.5: he was confident with the ball and played well defensively.

Fabinho 6.5: he replaced Lallana and he seems to have improved than his last game for Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino 5: he misplaced a lot passes.
