Star Keen To Becoming Mourinho’s No.10 In Key Role Behind Ibrahimovic. Is He Capable?

Manchester United superb player Henrikh Mkhitaryan has made a request to his manager Jose Mourinho to play him down the middle in the No.10 position at the club.

Mkhitaryan started the 3-0 win over Leicester City on the left hand side with Ibrahimovic and Rashford leading the line in a 4-4-2 formation.

But when coach Jose Mourinho decided to play a 4-2-3-1 set-up 30 minutes into the game, the Armenian moved into the central role.

Then he was able to open up the game, getting the ball forward into deadly positions, creating lots of chances and helped his side find a goal through him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic just before half-time.

Mkhitaryan while speaking about his change claimed that his side were able to dominate the ball much more.

“I can say we didn’t start the game very well but during the game,” he said.

“When the manager changed the formation and I came to the middle as a 10 and Marcus Rashford started to play as a winger, I think we started to control the ball more and had more chances to score and finally we did.

“After my first goal, I can say that we played very well, we were controlled during the whole game and we were dominating the ball, so that’s why we scored the second and third goals.”

Henrikh took the club’s official Man of the Match award with 83 per cent of the vote after the match as he truly made the difference between both sides.
