Guardiola will not sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in January

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is not expected to sign unsettled Arsenal Superstar Alexis Sanchez in the New Year during the winter transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

The Premier League leader’s interest in the winger dates back to last summer transfer window, in which the Etihad giants offered the North London club about £50 million for the Chile international wide man, which was turned down by the French man.

With both men being former FC Barcelona pair, it is believed that Pep Guardiola would relish the chance of a reuniting with the flying winger.

It is now widely believed that if a new deal cannot be agreed and signed with both camps of Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal, The Citizen’s will pounce at the end of the campaign to sign the attacker on a free transfer.

However, in a recent interview, the Manchester City manager sheds a few more light on the Alexis Sanchez contract saga:

‘He [Alexis Sanchez] is a player for the Gunners and I [Pep Guardiola] think he is going to remain there’

This was revealed after the Emirate club’s 1-1 draw on New Year’s day with West Brom, the last match of English Premier League football of year 2017 at the Hawthorns Stadium, where the forward’s deflected free-kick was ruled out by a controversial spot kick for the Baggies.
