Benjamin Mendy is one of the Monaco stars linked with a move away from the club this summer after their spectacular campaign last season.
The left-back is expected to make a switch to the English Premier League after emerging as a target for top English clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
In a new development, however, according to new reports in France, the player has agreed to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and has rejected offers from Chelsea and Liverpool.
L’Equipe are reporting that the Frenchman has informed Monaco of his decision and has also discussed with his manager Leonardo Jardim.
It is understood that the France international has earlier held talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp about a possible move to Anfield, and that Antonio Conte also made an attempt to sign him last week.
However, it was said that after his conversations with City boss Pep Guardiola, the 22-year-old made the decision to join the Etihad Stadium club instead.
Pep has reportedly promised him a key role in his squad next season, both in the domestic league and in the Champions League.
L’Equipe also added that Guardiola’s biggest obstacle is now agreeing on a fee with the Ligue I champions.
The player is valued at around €45 (£39.4m), but it is said that the French club will only consider selling if they receive an ‘exceptional offer’ for their prize asset.
