Expensive Flop: Ex-Liverpool Star Transfer-listed At Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been put up for sale by the club according to the latest reports emanating from the Italian media.

Brazilian international Coutinho has failed to fulfill his potentials at Barcelona in the last 18 months and he could be on his way out of the club this summer.

According to the report from Calciomercato, the former Liverpool player has been transfer-listed at Barcelona with the Spaniards keen to recoup the majority of their transfer fee on him.

Barcelona have already lined up a big money move for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann and the French international is likely to replace Philippe Coutinho at the club.

The Spanish La Liga champions signed Coutinho from Liverpool in January 2018 after the player forced through a move after the Reds were reluctant to let him leave the club.

Liverpool were said to have been paid an initial transfer fee of £116m which will increase based on add-ons.

The transfer made Coutinho the third most expensive player behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, both players are from French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

The aforementioned publication also revealed that Barcelona might struggle to find a buyer for Coutinho though he has been linked with clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG.
