Deal Off: Southampton Return For Adam Lallana Is Difficult

Southampton legend Francis Benali believes that it would be difficult for Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana to return to the club.

Reds star Lallana has been strongly linked with a move back to his former club but the Saints legend can’t see the move happening.

Benali talked about Adam Lallana in his recent interview monitored by the Daily Star as he revealed that it would be difficult for the Southampton faithfuls to welcome the player back to their club.

He further stated that it would also be awkward for the Southampton players.

Adam Lallana came through the Southampton Academy before representing the first team at the St. Mary’s Stadium.

The England international went on to captain the club before leaving in controversial circumstances in 2014.

Liverpool paid £25m to sign him from Southampton.

Lallana was a regular for club and country at one stage of his Liverpool career but injuries have stopped him in his tracks for the last two seasons.

He has made just 14 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season as a result of injury.

Lallana and Liverpool are chasing a fantastic double this season but the player has not been able to contribute much to that.

The Reds are battling with holders Manchester City for the Premier League title and will also face Spanish champions Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals.
