Premier League giants Liverpool are almost certain to miss out on Bayer Leverkusen attacker Julian Brandt if reports emanating from the media in Germany are anything to be reckoned with.
This is because the aforementioned player will most likely join Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund rather than Liverpool this summer.
According to Sky Germany, Julian Brandt will join 1997 Champions League winners Borussia Dortmund if he decides to leave fellow German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
He has been constantly linked with a move to Champions League finalists Liverpool in the past few weeks but the Reds might eventually miss out on the German international.
Julian Brandt was part of the Germany squad that flopped badly at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia having been picked for the final slot ahead of Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
He has two years left on his contract with Bayer Leverkusen with a release clause of just £21.5m.
Julian Brandt has been in very good form for Bayer Leverkusen who are closing in on a return to the Champions League.
They are in a three-way battle for one Champions League spot with the likes of Borussia Moenchengladbach and Europa League semifinalists Eintracht Frankfurt.
Brandt has scored nine goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this term in addition to a whopping 17 assists.
