Radja Nainggolan is another AS Roma player that appears destined to play in the premier league next season after emerging as a target for some big English clubs, including Man United and Chelsea.
However, his club’s sporting director Monchi has remained adamant that the player would not be sold.
Some days back, there were widespread speculations in Italy that Man United boss Jose Mourinho held personal talks with the midfielder about a potential move to Manchester.
It was also said that the Old Trafford club are ready to offer the Belgium international a contract worth £6.6 million a year, while he is valued at something close to £40 million.
Premier league champions Chelsea are also interested in signing the 29-year-old, and Radja himself confirmed that he has also spoken to Antonio Conte about a move to West London.
But it is now understood his Italian club are not ready to lose the Belgian yet and won’t entertain offers for him as the sporting director, speaking at a press conference on Saturday, insists that the player will definitely stay at Roma.
‘The time of selling important players is over. Now we build a team with the options that the market provides.” Monchi said.
The club have earlier sold Egyptian star Mohamed Salah to Liverpool and German defender Antonio Rudiger is heavily linked with joining Chelsea anytime soon.
