Deal Almost Agreed! Chelsea table 25 million Euro bid for full-back

According to reports from Turkey today, defending Premier League champions Chelsea have tabled an official bid for Porto star Alex Telles.

The 25-year-old Brazilian left full-back, moved to Europe from Gremio back in 2014, signing for Turkish outfit Galatasaray amid huge expectations.

However, an impressive debut season with the Turkish club was followed by a rather poor loan spell with Inter Milan back in 2015, leading to claims that he may not have the ability of breaking into the first team of a top European club.

Inter Milan subsequently turned down their option to make the player’s move to Italy permanent in the 2016 summer, allowing Portuguese side FC Porto to seal a 6.5 million Euro move for Telles.

And it is at Porto that the Juventus Academy product has truly performed well, fulfilling his youthful potential to establish himself as one of the best left-backs in Europe in the last 18 months.

A good return of 1 goal and 10 assists made in the Portuguese league and UEFA Champions League last term has since been added to another goal and 6 assists in the current campaign, leading to the player been linked to some big European clubs.

While it is reported that Porto’s valuation is 30 million Euro, an agreement is expected to be reached between the two teams, with the player set to possibly provide stiff competition to Spain international Marcos Alonso at left wing-back in London.
