Chelsea To Rekindle Interest In £80m Liverpool Target

Europa League champions Chelsea have concluded plans to rekindle their interest in Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey according to the Daily Mail.

It was revealed that the Jamaican international star has been identified as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard who has already joined Spanish club Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard became a Real Madrid player last week after the Los Merengues agreed on a club-record deal for him.

Real Madrid agreed on an initial fee of €100m for him excluding add-ons.

Chelsea will definitely want to replace Eden Hazard with another quality player but they have to overcome the two-window transfer ban on their head.

The Blues have been slapped with a transfer ban for violating regulations over the signing of players under the age of 18.

Chelsea had previously been linked with a move for Leon Bailey and the West London giants will revive their interest if they win their transfer ban appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Apart from Chelsea, Leon Bailey has been linked with other Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Leon Bailey is rated at around £80m by Bayer Leverkusen whom he helped to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Bayer Leverkusen returned to Champions League football via a fourth-place finish at the end of the latest German Bundesliga season.
