Chelsea To Announce First Summer Signing Willy Caballero After Personal Terms Agreed

According to widespread reports, premier league champions Chelsea are expected to announce Argentine goalie Willy Caballero as their first signing of the summer after agreeing to terms.

Caballero was released by Manchester City at the end of the campaign and has been on the look out for a new team to ply his trade ever since.

Even though Boca Juniors are reportedly interested in bringing him back to Argentina, news from Argentina says the premier league champions are the ones that won the race for his signature.

It is understood that the shot-stopper favoured the option of remaining in England and playing in the English top flight. Additionally, his countryman and former teammate at Man City Pablo Zabaleta is staying with West Ham too.

Chelsea’s former backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic moved to Bournemouth this summer and the west London club have been on the lookout for a new No.2 ever since they sold him to Bournemouth in a deal worth around £10 million.

Chelsea are making a return back to the Champions League next season, and an experienced keeper is needed in case anything should happen to first choice Thibaut Courtois. And Antonio Conte will be delighted to have someone like Willy in his squad.

Conte is expected to spend significantly more in the coming days and bring in new legs to his team ahead of a busy campaign next season.
