Burnley In Loan Bid For Chelsea Defender

Premier League outfit Burnley are plotting a loan move for highly-rated Chelsea defender Reece James according to various reports from the British media.

The Daily Mirror claim that the Clarets want to sign the young Chelsea player on loan when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

It was also revealed that Chelsea are not the only club interested in a move for the Blues right-back.

Fellow Premier League sides like Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace are also keen on a move for the 19-year-old.

The aforementioned publication revealed that Burnley are favourites to sign Reece James with Chelsea only interested in sanctioning a loan move for their player.

The other interested clubs want a permanent move for the player.

The Daily Mirror also revealed that Burnley will hunt after a move for Reece James if they manage to stay in the Premier League.

The Clarets’ Premier League status is under serious threat with Sean Dyche and his players just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Burnley were dealt further blow at the weekend when they lost 2-1 at home to 10-man Leicester City.

Foxes captain Wes Morgan scored the winning goal on the stroke of full-time after Burnley winger Dwight McNeil had cancelled out the opening goal from James Maddison in the first half.
