Arsenal to raid Atletico Madrid of another star defender

Arsenal are reported to be monitoring Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid central defender Filipe Luis in a bid to capture him in the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks.

Filipe Luis is believed to be nearing his end with the La Liga Champions with his current deal expected to end in less than a year which makes him available knowing that there is no talks on the table to have his deal extended at the club.

The Brazilian was a target of French side Paris Saint Germain but that has since changed with the European giants already securing the service of Juan Bernat from German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

This, therefore, makes the North London side favourite in having his signature with the Spanish side expected to sell him s as to cash in on him or risk losing him for free.

Kick Off reports that the North London boss Unai Emery is interested in having more additions to his team with defenders as a priority ahead of the winter transfer window.

It is reported that Diego Simeone side will be willing to let Filipe Luis who is already 33-year-old leave even at a cut-price in the January window.
