Sarri urged to sign more strikers in January

Maurizio Sarri has been urged to sign at least two strikers at the current January transaction period if he wants to finish the season among the top-four clubs.

This is what David Luiz felt after they were thrashed by Arsenal on Saturday. The Blues conceded two goals at Emirates stadium and they couldn’t reduce the deficit throughout the game.

Sarri said in his post-match conference that his men had a losing mentality during the encounter which was responsible for their inability to find the back of the net.

On the contrary, the center-back believes the players have the right mentality before and during the encounter, but they were made to pay for their uncreative form at the attacking department of the pitch.

The Brazilian charges the Italian boss to stop pointing accusing fingers and do the needful by signing more deadly strikers.

He equally urged his teammates to be more direct in their play so as to collectively end their uninspiring outputs in front of goal.

“That is another problem that we have to improve – creating more chances and scoring more. When I say that I am not talking about the strikers, I am talking about the whole team,” he told reporters.

The Blues were a free-scoring side at the start of the season, they recorded an amazing run of 11 unbeaten matches. But things have gone bad for the West London outfits who hardly score goals.

They are linked with a move for Belgian attacking midfielder Yannick Carrasco but they will need to beat Manchester United to his signature this month.

However, reports suggest Gonzalo Higuain will be available for selection against Tottenham as he’s expected to complete his loan switch Stamford Bridge later in the day.
